Selective aldehyde reductions in neutral water catalysed by encapsulation in a supramolecular cage

Herein, we use a supramolecular coordination cage as catalyst for the reduction of aldehydes to corresponding alcohols using weak hydride donor in neutral water, with mode action reminiscent natural enzymes.
